    What we do — and what we don’t

    FLOW does the water-side of water-based fire protection: standpipe flow tests, hydrostatic pressure tests, fire hydrant flow tests, dry-pipe trip tests and flushing, fire pump flow tests, and bulk water delivery. We do not install or design systems, service alarms or extinguishers, or issue engineering stamps — and when a job needs those or a final AHJ submission, we route it to a licensed fire protection firm partner. Staying in our lane is why our testing is good.

    What we do

    • Standpipe flow tests

      NFPA 14/25 flow testing at system demand from the hydraulically most remote outlets, with pumper apparatus.

    • Hydrostatic pressure tests

      200 psi / 2-hour (or 50 psi above max) integrity testing on standpipes and applicable piping.

    • Fire hydrant flow tests

      Static, residual, and pitot GPM to NFPA 291 for private hydrants and water-supply verification.

    • Dry-pipe trip tests & flushing

      Annual and 3-year full-flow trip tests, plus Chapter 14 flushing and obstruction assessment.

    • Fire pump flow tests

      Annual flow tests at minimum, rated, and 150% flow where a fire pump is present.

    • Bulk water delivery & pool filling

      Fire-grade bulk water for tank refills, pool filling, and temporary supply.

    What we don’t

    • System design or installation

      We do not design or install standpipe, sprinkler, or fire-main systems — that is NFPA 13/14 installation work for a licensed installer. We test what is already in service.

    • Full fire sprinkler ITM

      We perform the water-side sprinkler tests (main drain, supply, pump, hydrostatic). Full sprinkler inspection, head replacement, and internal maintenance beyond the water side are routed to a partner.

    • Fire alarm & electrical

      We do not inspect, test, or service fire alarm panels, detection, or electrical systems. Different discipline, different license.

    • Fire extinguishers & suppression

      We do not service portable extinguishers or clean-agent/kitchen suppression systems.

    • Engineering stamps & hydraulic design

      We provide measured field data; a licensed professional engineer provides stamped hydraulic calculations and design certifications.

    • Final AHJ sign-off & code authority

      We are not the authority having jurisdiction and do not issue approvals. Final reporting and AHJ/insurer submission is coordinated through a licensed fire protection firm partner when required.

    How partner routing works

    When a job needs work outside the water-side — a stamped hydraulic calculation, full sprinkler ITM, a fire alarm inspection, an installation, or a final AHJ submission — we do not force it or fake it. We do the water-moving fieldwork and capture the measured data, and a licensed fire protection firm partner handles the licensed reporting, stamps, or scope we do not cover.

    For the building owner that means one call still gets the job moving: we run the test, and the right licensed party closes it out. You get accurate field data and a clean handoff instead of a vendor pretending to do everything.

    Why we stay in our lane

    Specialization is why our testing is good. The water-side of fire protection — moving real water at real pressure and proving a system delivers — is a distinct discipline that needs pumper apparatus, the right gauges, and crews who do it every day. Firms that try to be everything to everyone rarely do the hard, physical water tests well.

    It is also honest. Telling you plainly what we do not do turns a mismatched inquiry into a useful referral and a partnership, instead of a bad fit and a wasted visit. Buyers, AHJs, and insurers trust a vendor who knows exactly where its scope ends.

    What does FLOW do?

    FLOW performs the water-side of water-based fire protection testing: standpipe flow tests, hydrostatic pressure tests, fire hydrant flow tests, dry-pipe trip tests and flushing, fire pump flow tests, and bulk water delivery. These are the flow-and-pressure tests that prove a system actually delivers water, performed with pumper apparatus sized to real system demand.

    What does FLOW not do?

    We do not design or install fire protection systems, service fire alarms or electrical, service extinguishers or suppression systems, issue engineering stamps, or act as the authority having jurisdiction. Full sprinkler ITM beyond the water side, and final AHJ or insurer submission, are coordinated through a licensed fire protection firm partner when required.

    Do you install or design fire protection systems?

    No. Design and installation are NFPA 13/14 work for a licensed installer or engineer. FLOW tests systems that are already in service — we prove existing standpipes, hydrants, pumps, and mains still perform, and we hand off design or installation needs to the right licensed party.

    Do you perform full fire sprinkler inspections?

    FLOW performs the water-side sprinkler tests — the main drain test, water supply and hydrant flow, fire pump flow, and hydrostatic testing. Full sprinkler inspection, head replacement, and internal maintenance beyond the water side are routed to a licensed fire protection firm partner, so you get accurate water data plus complete coverage.

    Can you sign off or submit to the AHJ?

    FLOW provides the measured field data and documentation. Where a job requires a stamped report or a final submission to the authority having jurisdiction or an insurer, that is coordinated through a licensed fire protection firm partner. You get one accountable process from field test to accepted report.

    What do you refer out, and to whom?

    We refer out system design and installation, fire alarm and electrical, extinguisher and suppression service, stamped engineering calculations, and final AHJ sign-off. These go to licensed fire protection firms and professional engineers we work with, so a job outside our water-side scope still gets to the right hands quickly.
